Fr. Colin Parrish | First Mass

This past weekend, the Seattle Archdiocese ordained four new priests! Ordination weekend is such a joyous occasion for the Catholic church. It is amazing to witness new priests make their commitment to the Lord and to their communities. We are all so blessed to have them with us.

It is customary for a new priest to celebrate his first Mass (the day after ordination) at his home parish. Last year, I had the opportunity to photograph Fr. Michael Dion's Mass of Thanksgiving at Sacred Heart in Enumclaw. This year, it was an honor to document Fr. Colin Parrish's first Mass at Blessed Sacrament in Seattle. The Mass was just beautiful, with sunlight streaming through the stained glass windows and the lovely hymns from the choir echoing through the church.

I am so thankful to have been part of such a special day. Here are a few snaps from Sunday:

Thank you, Fr. Colin, for asking me to document such a special occasion. We are so thankful for you and your gifts, and cannot wait to see what God has in store for you.

Also, special shout-out to the other priests who were ordained last weekend, especially Fr. Jeff Moore! Fr. Jeff and I went to high school together and I have such a high respect for him. This new group of priests sure is awesome. If you'd like to learn more about their stories, make sure to check out THIS ARTICLE.
