Nicole + Evan

I am a huge fan of engagement photos, so much so that all my wedding packages include a complimentary engagement session. No, this is not an #ad, just a fact. ;) Not only is it fun to have some photos of yourselves that don't include a white dress and a tux, but it is a great way to connect with your photographer before your actual wedding day. If there is one thing that I have learned since shooting weddings (spoiler alert: I've learned more than one thing), it is that having a connection with your wedding photographer is KEY. Like, of the upmost importance. Your wedding photographer is there to document you and your story. To capture the essence of your wedding day, all the hard work you put into it, the relationships with your guests and the moments that mark the beginning of the rest of your life. No pressure, right? But really, I have found that having a little bit of emotional investment, the personal connection to your story, makes all the difference when it comes to creating beautiful images. They're more than just pretty pictures...they have meaning and substance.

Speaking of engagement sessions, I had the chance to meet up with Nicole and Evan last weekend!! These two lovebirds are getting married next month, and I am so happy that we had the opportunity to meet up beforehand to snap a few photos and catch up on life before their big day! We walked around Gene Coulon Park waiting for the sun to get to the right spot and boy, was it worth it.
