Last week I spent some time with Laura and Keith and their brand new baby girl! This little one was just a week old when I saw her, and it was so awesome to see how alert she was. Laura and Keith are amazing parents, and I am so thrilled for them to start this new chapter of their life together.

Whenever I chat with expecting parents about scheduling a newborn session, I always recommend getting a date on the calendar 7-10 days after baby's due date. Even though babies are rarely born on their actual due date, it helps having something set on the calendar. More often than not, we end up adjusting the day once baby comes. Having a tentative date set, though, brings peace of mind for everyone. It checks one more thing off the to-do list for the parents, and helps set things in motion on my end when baby does arrive. With Laura and Keith, we had their newborn date set on the calendar months in advance, which ended up being the perfect day for a session together.
