Maya
Yesterday I spent the day at The Classroom Collective studio in downtown Tacoma. It was a super fun day filled with lots of lovely friends and family, and I can't wait to share all the photos with you!
My last session of the day was with this lovely lady. At the end of last year's school year, I asked the seniors I had worked with to nominate someone they felt deserved a free session...a "pay it forward" session, if you will. Within a week of sending out the nomination cards, Cole had sent his back with a wonderful description of why he felt Maya deserved this gift from him.
With my schedule filling up so fast this fall/winter, yesterday was the only day I was available to work with her, even though our first contact was probably in August before Madison was born. I am so thankful that she was patient enough to wait a few months for our session because, boy, did we have a fun time together! It was such an honor to work with her.
We decided to work outside because the lighting was too dreamy to pass up. I know I gushed about the golden hour with Emily and Behren's session, but there's something great about a perfectly overcast PNW day, too. :)
Here are some of my favorites:
^^ Regarding these last two images - I had read a tip from Ben Sasso once about shooting through different materials and thought it might be fun to put a Ziploc bag around my lens. The results were pretty spectacular! I can't wait to show you more.

Thank you so much for trusting me with your senior photos, Maya! It was so wonderful to meet you, and I hope that we're able to see each other again soon!
