The Blueberry Farm

They were faced with the decision of staying in their comfort zone and finding a new job in the Seattle area or moving closer to their families and starting completely from scratch. And after a lot of discernment and prayer they decided to follow the path the Lord had set out for them in a brand new city and, wait for it, on a blueberry farm.

He's a former Big Four auditor (we got along well, obviously), now running the finances of a church in southern Washington. She's a entrepreneur with several business as well as a formally trained dancer. Our friend circles weirdly overlap but we only just met a year ago. Meet Luke and Jordan, my new role models.

I chuckle because that sounds seriously dramatic, but it's true. They were presented with the opportunity to uproot their lives, take on a true fixer upper and just trust that this was what they were meant to do. And they did, they went for it. When reading Jordan's blog post explaining their whole story, I felt a swell of pride and excitement for these people that I barely knew! How many of us would make that jump into the unknown? I admire that so much.

I am so blessed to have the chance to document their progress over this next year. This is the type of photography project that makes me do a happy dance every time I think about it. It's a welcomed challenge, to capture moments that may seem trivial now but are guaranteed to be treasured memories once their new farm is up and running. I can't wait to see the transformation and I know you'll love it, too.
